Retirees With Tech

Did you guys know you could have a "silent listening party" at home?  Some of you may have seen these parties advertised in big cities from time to time; I think there's even a Groupon to rent the equipment for one.  The premise is that a large gathering of people can listen to and enjoy the same music at a venue silently.  Everyone gets a pair of wireless headphones tuned into the same frequency.  The D.J. spins the tunes and only those with their headphones on can hear the jam.  No noise complaints from neighbors and still lots of fun for the participants.  It sounds kinda weird but we recreated that experience at our house.  Let's say you want to watch TV, listen to a music channel, stream video from Youtube etc. and you'd like to not disturb your loved one who happens to be asleep nearby. Then I've got just the device for you.  It's called CONNECT.  It is a universal bluetooth audio transmitter that can connect to two bluetooth headphones or speakers in the same room as the TV.  In short it can either give you stereo surround sound in your main viewing area using two external bluetooth speakers or it can give you stereo sound that only you can hear in a pair of wireless headphones.  Why is this useful.  Welp, If your house is like ours then the TV with the best picture and the best sound happens to be in the main room.  The main room of our home happens to be less than 20 feet from our Dad's bedroom.  If said beautiful TV is turned up like, at all, then said TV disturbs Dad's sleep.  So after doing a little research I found CONNECT at Best Buy.  Once we hooked it up to the optical cable outlet  and the USB port on the T.V. we were able to pair our Cowin wireless headphones to the CONNECT thus allowing us to listen to and watch said beautiful TV without disturbing anyones peace.  Later we discovered we could have dance parties in complete silence in our main room whilst Dad talked or slept the night away nearby.  Works for us! #RetireesWithTech  #WellWorth59Bucks
