Disney cruise with Dad-day 3

I really had no reason to be up at the crack of dawn but there I was, staring off the balcony watching God be God.  It was a spectacular start to the day and it made me want to see more. I decided to give all of the eager families first dibs on exiting the ship so Dad and I could take our time with breakfast.  We headed for the gang plank around 1030 where the Disney crew was happy to help us get transportation to the interior of Castaway Cay.  The tram buses that run continuously all have wheelchair accessible ramps making it extremely easy to go where ever there are paved pathways.
It felt good to know that Dad was safe and secure as we made our way to our first stop.  Be advised that there are sand accessible wheelchairs available on a first come, first served basis if you'd like to dip your toes directly into the water.  Dad wasn't having any of THAT but it was good to know anyway.  We were all about the bar BQ lunch and the fruity coconut drinks which we handled promptly.  The Disney experience is such that you can pretty much charge anything to your stateroom account so feel free to leave the cash in the safe back on the ship.  Somewhere around 2pm we
'd had enough sun and surf and decided to go back to the room for a much needed nap.  Naps are NOT overrated on cruise ships.  The gentle motion of the waves and the sound of the birds is so relaxing it shouldn't be missed!

Our third and final dining experience was in Animators Palace
, yet another uniquely themed eye popping experience.  This time Disney paid tribute to the animations that first created Disney magic.  It's surreal to see many of your favorite Disney characters drawn on canvases right in front of you! As the dining room transitions from all black and white into color you are overloaded with sights and sounds and a surprise visit from Mickey.  This is the only night my food got cold. I was too busy trying not to miss a single thing.  And also laughing out loud at the funny stories being spun by our table mates Macky and Tom.  And the sweet conversation of Rosemary and her daughter Amy.  And the wit and wisdom of Therril and Rod.  It was an awesome evening and we hated to part from our new friends.  But there were more Disney characters to run into and hit music to dance to and last minute sights and sounds we weren't ready to leave behind.
Eventually I re-discovered my inner adult and got us back to the room so that I could finish packing our suitcases for pick-up and plan our exit the next day.  Waaahhh!
