New Beginnings

Marriage is a sacred institution blessed by God.  That was apparent at the wedding of my niece and namesake Sylvia L. Daniels to her soulmate Clarence Ray in August.  I have never attended a wedding that was truly a life-giving service to all in the room.. You could just tell something extremely special was formed that evening as the couple gazed lovingly at each other.  I know it is a match made in heaven that will withstand the test of time.  Congratulations Sylvia and Clarence!

There comes a time in every womans life when she knows it's time for a change.  There's a subtle and discernible shift in the air around your brain where everything starts to look off.  My time came during our church fast in January.  Fasts are great times to confront LOTS of things, such as our cravings, our shortcomings and the dross that clutters up our lives.  Funny thing, my hair started feeling like part of the clutter.  On a hot day, there it was suffocating and clingy. Our next trip awaits!!!

Dad and I are busy getting ready for our next adventure. Ok. I'm the one whose busy while Dad is chilling. But we can't wait to set sail on our 4 day Disney cruise to the Bahamas.   One might think packing for a four day vacay wouldn't take much energy but you would be sadly mistaken.  Whether you are traveling overnight or for a month, certain necessities must go with.  Those necessities take up a whole small suitcase so, be prepared.  I always plan for the worst and hope for the best that way I am rarely disappointed. I meticulously pack using a detailed checklist of items Dad needs.  This ranges from his favorite night cap to toothpicks.  No item is too small to be catalogued and packed.  If it truly matters at home then chances are it will matter in another location.  This is a task that takes days to accomplish well so, start early and save yourself considerable stress. New Home

The time has come to change my writing home. My plans are to move my current blog home to Wordpress.com under a different name in the coming weeks.  BUT, that said I have soooooo many Dad stories that I'd still like to share; Stories of his past that have kept me entertained my whole life that I think you will find entertaining too. So here's the thing: I will keep posting, albeit less frequently.  Feel free to subscribe to:  trippinwithdad.blogspot.com to keep up with Dad and the beautiful colorful life he led.
